This option includes return ferry transfers between Cairns Marina and Fitzroy Island on the Sunlover catamaran. Guests have the freedom to explore Fitzroy Island at their own pace. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes each way and provides access to the island’s beaches, walking trails, and visitor facilities. Once on the island, guests can spend the day walking the trails, relaxing on the beach, or visiting the day-use facilities. Snorkel gear, glass bottom boat tours, and other activities are not included in this option.

Your Day at a Glance
Check in at the Sunlover desk at Reef Fleet Terminal from 8:45am to 9:45am. Boarding begins at 9:30am and closes at 10:00am. The ferry departs Cairns Marina at 10:15am and arrives at Fitzroy Island by 11:00am.
Guests can enjoy the island at their own pace. Popular activities include visiting Nudey Beach, walking through the National Park trails, or simply relaxing by the water. The return ferry departs Fitzroy Island at 3:30pm, arriving back in Cairns at 4:30pm.

This trip was great So well run, the staff were friendly, helpful, happy and interested in the clients having a great time. I would definitely book again.
We had a wonderful day & our tripnout to Fitzroy Island was great.
We were told the return trip was at 4pm, but it was 4.45pm before the boat arrived so the boat was very late heading back to Cairns & we stood on the pier for 45mins waiting & not sure when the boat was coming to pick us up - but other than that it was great.
Went out to Fitzroy Island to do the turtle rehabilitation tour. This was very basic and pretty much had a person standing in front of a blue pool with a newly rescued turtle swimming around. We copped an absolute shocker of a day weather wise and the trip out and back in was not for the faint hearted. There were a lot of people being sick. Value for money...no not really. Would I recommend the trip....no not really. Desperately short of toilets on the island. Would be better value to go to the aquarium in Cairns and see the turtles.
